Description | This module addresses the role of reproducibility and data sharing in the rapidly evolving open science environment. Reproducibility and data sharing foster scientific impact and credibility and are more and more expected by funders, journals, and the researchers' own institutions. The module will cover an introduction to the main concept of reproducibility as well as some good practice of reproducible research in social sciences (preregistration, registered report, replication). The course also covers the benefits of and challenges to data sharing, data preservation and long-term access and how to select and use available and appropriate repositories for sharing. The workshop will be interactive with hands-on exercises, and will allow for a deeper understanding regarding open data and the challenges of sharing in a competitive research world. |
